Ride towards the Passo and, after crossing the border between Lombardy and Trentino, leave the centre of the village and on the side of Adamelloski ticket office, go along the unpaved road, which will take you till the San Bartolomeo Hospice (1971 m a.s.l.). Where the road parts near a bend, go ahead towards east, riding on the mule-track, which used to be the only way to cross the Tonale pass. After a slight descend of 1.4 km, you reach Forte Mero (1840 m a.s.l.); from here, continue till Forte Zaccarana (2096 m a.s.l.).

Ride downhill on the state highway for a short distance till reaching the crossroads leading to Stavel e Velon, two lovely villages at the bottom of the Vermiglio valley. Near the restaurant La Baita Velon, the route starts to ascend, siding the torrent, till reaching Malga Pecè; from here, the ascent becomes more difficult, though the cool of the wood will refresh you. After 5 hairpin bends, at the crossroads, take the left way, towards Alveo del Presena; along this part of the route, you will enjoy stunning views of the valley now and then. After 400 m, turn right and ride until the entrance to the “fitness trail”; this last part is almost flat and takes you in front of the ossuary of Tonale, from where you will ride back to the hotel.
